"a123-Friendly" e550/e620 G10 Frame Upgrade
Allows use of a123-based packs in their "native" tandem/side-by-side configuration.
The new eRaptors are great, but they are not very a123-compatible. The frames are too narrow and the up-sloping battery tray won't allow the a123 cells to mount vertically. This new, very affordable lower frame upgrade fixes both problems. These new frames allow the a123 cells to be used pretty much just like they come out of a DeWalt tool pack, in a side-by-side, or tandem configuration. Shown is a 15s setup, which is made up using a singel 10-cell a123 pack and an "A"-shaped 5-cell pack, which are then wired together in series. This new frame setup will also accomodate two 10-cell packs that can be wired in parallel, in a 10s2p configuration that provides a great, long duration, sport flying and/or AP/AV setup.

In an e550, with 550 mm blades, you can use a single 10-cell a123 pack, a Z30A-800, the stock 10T pinion and a Phx HV 45, for instance, and have a great lightweight intermedaite level setup. Headspeed will be around 2000 rpm, which can be dialed down, as desired, using the ESC's governor.

For those looking for a more affordable path to a "full-size" e620, start with the e550 kit, add this new frame kit, and then simply add the Titan/e620 boom (PV0521), belt (PV0520) and tail control rod (PV0551). For power, there are two a123-based options. For all-out, hard 3D, use a Z50A-600, an 11T pinion, a 55-85A controller good for 12s LiPos, and a 15s a123 setup. The 100% headspeed will be around 2350-2400, which can be dialed down to about 2200-2250 [i][b]Note [/b]- Headsppeds above 2100 require the upgraded metal hub and above 2200 metal grips should be used.[/i] This will allow durations in the 7 minute range, but the power is awesome! You can get similar performance, but about a minute less in duration with a 14-cell a123 configuration and a 12T pinion.

The second e620 a123-based setup is great for long-duration sport flying. It uses two 10-cell a123 packs, wired in parallel in a 10s2p configuration, along with a Z50A-800, an 11T pinion and aany 55-85A controller with a governor mode. This will provide a 100% headspeed around 2200, which can be dialed down to an ideal 2000 with the governor.

Finally, for those looking to do an AP/AV configuration, you can use the same sport fliying a123 10s2p/Z50A-800 setup, but use the stock e550 10T pinion.

In order to convert an existing R50/Titan to this a123-compatible e550/620 configuration, as described above, the following standard parts are required: PV0544 111T Main Gear, PV0552 Link Rod, PV0554 Elevator Arm Lever, PV0555 Elevator A-Arm, PV0556 Aileron Lever, PV0557 Servo Tray, PV0558 Main Frame and PV0574 Motor Mount. these parts can be purchased at any dealer that sells Raptor parts. Elegantly simple eCCPM conversion kit for the Raptor.
An update to Electraflight's successful 120 degree eCCPM kit for all V1/V2 Raptor 30s and 50s, now includes a 90-to-120 degree conversion ring for the existing Raptor aluminum swashplate. All required hardware is included in the kit.

This conversion is completely compatible with the new "ORK"-based Electric Conversion Kit, offered above, and provides a significant weight reduction over the stock mechanical CCPM setup. Installation is quick and easy, and only requires the removal of the rotor assembly in order to convert the swashplate to 120-degrees using the provided conversion ring. All other changes can be accomplised on a completely assembled Raptor.

In addition to the weight savings, which can be as much as six ounces, this mod can increase the maximum pitch range on a Raptor to at least +/-12 degrees, which the high-powered 1912-1.5Y/10s2p-4200 electric conversion can utilize for even better performnance.

Solderless 4s4p a123 12V/9.2Ah Pack Construction Kit.
Everything required to build a solderless 4s4p a123 pack, including a 4-channel LVC circuit board. Unique "stick pack" construction technique groups four blocks of four paralleled cells, one block in front of the other, with the LVC board on the top of the stack. Between blocks are G10 plates with nickel-plated springs, which are used to make connections with the cells. A threaded rod down the middle holds everything snugly in place. Should cells ever need replacing, this can be accomplished with a simple partial dis-assembly of the stack. No messy soldering is required at all. Multiple 12V/9.2Ah "stick packs" can be connected in series in order to be used in 24V, 36V, 48V and/or 72V setups.

Although designed for a123 cells, this kit will also work fine with any 26mm diameter cells, such as those sold at Batteryspace.com, Headway cells, and the new LiFePO4 cells sold by FalconEV.com.

The kit includes the following: 4-channel LVC board, 5-pin male balancer/charger plug, three inter-connection G10 plates with nickel-plated battry springs and copper straps which are used to connect the four cells in each block in parallel, one G10 bottom plate with attached threaded rod, and a 14" length of black 5"-wide PVC heat shrink tubing. Also included is all required hardware (nuts, lock washers, etc.). The threaded rod serves as the negative output terminal and there is 3x10mm stud on the PCB which is the postive terminal. An option is provided for a matching 5-pin female balancier/charger plug/pigtail.

4-24 - Channel LiFePO4 BMS Board-v2.2.
Variable length PCB for a LiFePO4-based Battery Management System (BMS), that can be used with from 4 to 24-channels. Design includes a low-voltage cutoff function that can be used to activate the brake function on most controllers, whenever a cell/cell block drops below 2.1V. For charging, a high-power shunt-based circuit for each channel allows up to 1/2A of current to be bypassed, ensuring that each cell/block can reach a full 100% charge level. Individual LEDs for each channel will come on when the channel is in the bypass mode, which indicates that the cell is full. A bi-color master LED comes on red, when the charger is in the constant current mode, and turns towards green as the individual channels start going into the bypass mode. This allows standard SLA-type CC/CV chargers to be used with LiFePO4-based packs, while making sure each cell is fully charged, independent of each other. When all channels are in the full bypass mode, the charge current is cutoff, and the main LED turns solid green.

Included with the double-sided PCB is a full set of illustrated instructions. The board features "breakaway" points every four channels, so this one board can be used for setups requiring 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 channels

16-Cell Low Voltage Cutoff Protection Circuit.
This proven low-voltage protection circuit now supports up to 16-channels. Connection options are provided, which minimally includes a board-mounted multi-pin connector, with a matching plug/harness with foot-long wires that can be connected to the cell junctions in the pack. This included plug/harness allows the cell connectins to be checked, before plugging in the LVC board. Another option is provided where a separate receptacle connector (same as the board-mounted version), with a set of wires is used, so that one of the two receptacles can be used with external balancers, or individual cell chargers. An extra matching plug/cable assembly is available as an option, whcih can then be used on the balancer/individual charger end.

The standard configuration provides a signal line that can be connected to the controller in order to cut the throttle should any of the LV circuits trip. A length of two conductor wire is provided for this signal. Finally, 8-cell, 10-cell and 12-cell options are provided, in addition to the standard 16-cell configuration.
